does this diet constipate u. What kind of weight loss can i expect

  2. Kevin Choken Jr. says:

I want to eat this food forever

  3. George Wilson says:

Alba it doesn’t constipate you anymore than other diets. The fresh vegetables will help a lot with that as well.

  4. genesis says:

why would you not want to eat beans and peanuts?

  5. joe says:

good snd nice and tasting aha mmmm:)

  6. Dani says:

Just wondering, with this diet is it ok to eat Ostrich meat and Soya nuts?

  7. George Wilson says:

My understanding is that Ostrich meat is its very lean, so it would be okay under the paleo diet. It’s also supposed to taste similar to beef.

Soya nuts as in soybeans? If so, legumes should be avoided. It’s in the “Avoid” section of most paleo diet books as well.

With the paleo diet there is disagreement with a lot of food items. So it is also up to your discretion. I personally avoid anything high carbohydrate (or extra carbs) because I like them too much (lol!).

There is 56 grams of carbohydrates in 1 cup of dry roasted soybeans. And around 108 grams in 1 cup of dry roasted peanuts. So that gives you an idea on the health value.

  8. Rosemary says:

If you can have almonds, can you have almond milk?

  9. George Wilson says:

Rosemary, yes you can have almond milk.

You can also try coconut and hazelnut milk.

There’s a lot of substitutes out there.

There was no answer to Alba’s question about how much weight loss can you expect. I am a heart patient and I have seizures as well as a borderline diabetic. I need to lose about 80 pounds and I was checking to see if this diet will be enough to aid in this.

    • George says:

There is no exact answer to this question. Everyone is different and a lot of factors come into play such as metabolism. In every instance, it is recommended consulting a health professional before taking on any diet. I can only provide information based on my own experience and research. For me I lost 1 pant size after 2-3 weeks. Pant size I found was a more accurate measurement as many things can cause the scales to vary. I also limited fruit which is allowed on the diet but I did this to speed up my results. I also did light exercise of 2 times per week. 1 pant size I believe is equivalent to 5 pounds of fat. This diet is one that makes sense and a healthier alternative to many other diets out there but I am sorry, nobody can give you an exact answer to this.

My understanding of the traditional hunter – gatherer diet is that women collected around 90 to 95% of the foods…mostly fruit, vegetables, nuts, small animals (e.g. lizards) and stationary seafood (such as clams and mussels). It seems that the emphasis in your information on large animal meat foods, and your limiting of fruit is out of step with a true paleo diet. I would consder a true paleo diet to be substantially fruit, vegetables and nuts with a small amount of seafood and a rare meal of meat.
I have derived this information through a degree in anthropology, and my ancestral connection as an australian aboriginal. I don’t present this information as definitive, but instead in the spirit of inviting comment.

confused about consuming dairy-can you eat greek yogurt or any cheeses on this diet? Also, can you use vinegars or soy sauce to marinade veggies & meats? Lastly, can you consume Bragg Amino Acids?
